Corrections Policy

We correct errors promptly and transparently. When we get something wrong, we say so — on the story itself.

How corrections work

• When an editor confirms a factual error, a correction note is added to the top of the story with the date and time it was issued.
• The underlying error in the story text is fixed at the same time.
• For significant errors, we may also note the correction on our social channels where the story was shared.

Requesting a correction

If you believe we published something inaccurate, tell us via the contact page or the tips portal. Include the story headline or link and what you believe is wrong. An editor reviews every request.
